NAFFCO is at Intersec 2015

NAFFCO was at Intersec 2015, the world’s largest and most comprehensive trade and networking exhibition for the Security and Safety industries. A global leader in the fire safety and security industries, NAFFCO is the founding sponsor of the exhibition which, in this year’s edition, enlisted 1,237 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors from 131 countries. NAFFCO recognized Intersec as an international meeting platform and considered it a great opportunity to show its “one-stop-shopping” source for all types of fire protection systems.

In this year’s edition, NAFFCO highlighted, among other innovations and services, the newly launched Pump Cloud, NAFFCO Automatic Fuel Filtration System, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Vehicle (ARFFV), EML Connect, NAFFCO Training, etc.

Pump Cloud
Considering the important role of fire pump as the heart of firefighting system, it should be monitored round-the-clock to ensure that it is properly working especially during emergencies. Pump Cloud is a modern and innovative system that enables 24/7 monitoring of fire pumps. It uses an interface unit connected with the fire pump controllers and related sensors and equipment in the Fire Pump room which in turn will send monitored signals to a special modem that communicates with NAFFCO Desktop Managing system through 3G or GPRS, where NAFFCO maintenance team on standby are monitoring the pump 24 / 7 and ready for action.

NAFFCO Automatic Fuel Filtration System
Fuel contamination is a major cause of premature shutdown for standby engines, generator sets, fire pump engines, and other diesel engine support functions. Contamination starts as soon as the tanks are filled and continues until the fuel is used. As the length of storage period is increased, the probability of premature engine shutdown is also increased due to clogged filter or excessive water entrainment.

The solution: NAFFCO Automatic Fuel Filtration System. It is a self-contained, stand-alone system that removes and prevents the build-up of water, sludge and contaminants in tanks. It stabilizes diesel and bio-fuels, eliminates microbial contamination to optimize and maintain fuel quality. It is designed to fulfill NFPA requirements in maintaining and cleaning fuel stored in fuel tanks in accordance with NFPA 20, NFPA 25, and NFPA 110.

Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Vehicle (ARFFV)
Also known as the Fire Falcon 6, ARFFV is back in the Intersec this year proudly showcasing its own manufactured prototype of the falcon cabin which was successfully tested as per the internationally recognized testing E/ECE/324 and E/ECE/TRANS/505, Addendum 28, Regulation No. 29 with regard to protection of the occupants of the cabin. In the continuous effort to provide NAFFCO customers with proven and safe technologies, the requirements of the standard were purposely exceeded and the falcon cabin demonstrated excellent strength and impact properties. The roof strength was tested with 13500 kg , which is 3500kg more than the regulation requirement and the front impact test was performed at 55 kJ, against the 45 kJ specified by the regulation.

Emergency Light Connect
For the first time in the UAE, NAFFCO is providing cloud connectivity services for Emergency lighting system to ensure efficiency in monitoring, reporting, installation, and maintenance. EML Connect is user friendly and ensures 24/7 monitoring and can perform the test worldwide wherever your emergency lights are installed. EML Connect consists of a single four channel Ethernet gateway connected the NAFFCO PS2 and a wireless router. This enables 4 x 64 DALI devices to be connected and controlled through hard wired control devices or iPad / iPhone wireless devices. Some of the major advantages of the EML Connect are:

  1. Wireless commissioning and control
  2. Automated emergency Lighting testing
  3. Backwards compatible
  4. Suitable for lighting installation

NAFFCO Training
To increase awareness and alleviate technical knowledge on fire safety standards, NAFFCO offers training programs based on 3 main facets namely:

  1. Theory. Using the classroom environment our internationally accredited instructors teach NFPA rules and regulations.
  2. Practical. We offer hands-on training on all fire safety systems
  3. Testing and certification. We offer NFPA certifications as well as NAFFCO certifications

Taking place over three days from January 18-20, 2014 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Intersec 2015 is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and supported by the Dubai Police, the Dubai Civil Defence, and the Dubai Police Academy.
