NAFFCO Group Unveils Region’s First Road Rail Ambulance to Support Railway Emergency Accidents

NAFFCO Group has unveiled the region’s first Road Rail Ambulance, a groundbreaking advancement in emergency response capabilities for both road and rail environments. This milestone marks a major step forward in the region’s rail and road emergency services, offering rapid and efficient response to railway incidents while maintaining full mobility on conventional roads.

Under the leadership of Ali Khalid Al Khatib, Group Managing Director of NAFFCO Group, the project reflects NAFFCO’s ongoing commitment to innovative safety solutions aligned with national infrastructure development. The unit is manufactured locally in the UAE, integrating imported American rail systems with medical compartments built to American standards, ensuring compliance with international safety and quality benchmarks.

NAFFCO Group proudly showcased the region’s first Road Rail Ambulance at the World Health Expo Dubai, demonstrating its leadership in emergency response innovation.

Advanced Design for Rapid Response

Engineered for seamless operation on both roads and railway tracks, the ambulance is built on a heavy-duty Ford chassis and features a hydraulic rail guidance system. Its deployable steel rail wheels allow the vehicle to transition directly onto railway tracks, ensuring rapid access to remote rail sections that conventional emergency vehicles may not reach efficiently.

Fully Equipped Mobile Medical Unit

The Road Rail Ambulance is a fully equipped Advanced Life Support unit, featuring:

• Ventilators and AEDs
• Suction systems
• Trauma stabilization equipment
• Spine boards and traction splints
• Climate-controlled medical compartments

This configuration ensures operational readiness and patient safety even in challenging desert or cross-border environments.
